Long Run and Business

I have been really busy the past few weeks, which is why I haven't blogged a ton.  I am the hospitality coordinator for MOPS this year, and while I don't think it is that challenging of a roll, I decided to get crazy and make some tie dyed bed sheets as table cloths.  Sounded easy enough, I thought but alas over underestimated (understatement) the amount of time they would take to make.  I will post again when I am finished with everything.  I'm sure it will be worth it, but I will BE SO GLAD when this project is over.  :)

I did my 10 mile long run on Saturday.  I know for many of you, this is not a long run, but it was for me.  My 1/2 is about a month away.  I want to get at least a 13 or 14 miler in before that time.  I was really happy with my pace for this run.  I got up at 5:15 on a SATURDAY!!!  I just could not think about eating breakfast at that time (I should have).  I did have a cup of coffee with a small scoop of ice cream in it!  LOL... we were out of creamer.  I brought water this time and stuffed some organic Honey Stinger Energy chews into my sports bra.  Next time I will wear shorts with a pocket.  Why don't I ever think of these things before hand!!!  Needless to say, my fuel kept coming out of my sports bra and poking my chin.

I fueled around miles 3 and 7 (3-4 chews each time).  I drank about 5-6 big sips of water throughout the run, but probably should have done more.  Here are my splits:

Mile 1 - 8:53
Mile 2 - 8:26
Mile 3 - 8:19
Mile 4 - 8:39
Mile 5 -8:18
Mile 6 - 8:17
Mile 7 - 8:16
Mile 8 - 8:23
Mile 9 - 8:07
Mile 10 - 7:52

Overall pace 8:21.  Not to bad, considering I have a month to go.  I haven't ran a 10 miler in over 2 years!!!

Today 6 miles easy 9:09 pace.

Yesterday 4 mile recovery pushing Joey in the jogger.  Averaged 10:30 pace.

He really does like it, I promise you!  No shoes, because I have had to stop running TOO many times to pick up shoes thrown out of the stroller (both Annabelle and Joey have done this), AND we have lost some!

Michael got an early anniversary present this year!!

Compound Bow!  I keep calling it a "compact" bow.  Ha!  What do I know?!  I'm super excited for him to get out in the range and play!!  He works so hard for us!  I'm glad he is finding his own outlet!

I have "long hair" Mom!

Pasta necklace craft!

I just can't resist posting this!  So cute!

MOPS starts tomorrow.  Girls get together tomorrow night for small group Bible study!  Annabelle and I might do a little school in the afternoon, too!

Happy Labor Day!

That is an awesome long run! You will be in good shape for your 1/2 for sure!!! I hate carrying water...how did you do it? My last long run I dropped off water bottles the night before at a few places I would pass. The honey stinger chews are the only form of fuel I like so far! I put them in a spibelt...it is awesome. You can't even tell you are wearing it!
Ice cream as creamer is funny and I can't eat that early either!

Thanks! You will laugh. I carried a sample cascade bottle that I cleaned out! It was the PERFECT size to hold! My husband CRACKED up! Oh, well. Necessity is the mother of invention, eh? :) I will have to get a spibelt! I'm sure that will be so much better than what I was doing!
